Our EUA report brings together everything that truly matters for managing emission allowances.
It combines coverage, costs, deals, emissions, transfers, and balance-sheet data into one clear, real-time view by giving full transparency from strategic planning to individual transactions. But the value goes far beyond visibility.
Accurate, structured EUA reporting is what enables organisations to:
Make strategy decisions based on solid data rather than assumptions
Run scenarios instantly and compare forward, spot, and hybrid approaches
Prepare board material quickly, with clean numbers and clear narratives
Optimize internal allocations before buying or selling in the market
Strengthen audit and compliance readiness with traceable data
With all essential insights in one place, decision-making becomes faster, more confident, and fully data-driven. This reporting focuses only on what truly matters by giving you a complete picture without unnecessary layers, and a practical tool for both daily operations and long-term planning.
The EU carbon market has become increasingly volatile — prices have more than doubled since 2020 and continue to fluctuate around €80 per tonne of CO₂. As free allocations decline and compliance costs rise, planning and visibility have become critical components of effective EUA management.
There is a need for replace manual, in-house reporting process with a modern EUA management system that provides a complete view of all EUA-related activities, from free allocations and emissions to trading, balance sheet, positions, simulations, and audit trails.
With a stronger data foundation and real-time transparency, we aim to enhance decision-making, control risk, and respond faster to changing market dynamics.
Coverage
The coverage view summarizes fixed trades (executed deals) with their average prices, along with exercised deals from the balance sheet (BS). The Left to BS column indicates the position carried forward to the next year, while the Market rate shows the official year-end price, complemented by forecasted rates for future years. Swap costs are correctly reflected through added margins to upcoming years, enabling realistic future exposure tracking.
Emissions & Allocation
This section visualizes the annual development of emissions and free allocations, providing a clear picture of compliance balance and long-term planning needs.
EUA Average Price
The price trend illustrates both actual and simulated average EUA prices, offering insight into historical developments and potential future cost impacts.
Position and Cost Tables
The lower tables summarize yearly allocations, emissions, and resulting positions, alongside detailed cost breakdowns before and after usage. This makes it easy to follow how market price movements and hedging decisions affect total EUA costs over time.
Together, these views deliver a transparent, data-driven picture of EUA exposure — supporting better decision-making, planning, and risk management in a volatile carbon market.
Deal Overview
Each line represents a single EUA deal with attributes such as deal type (FORWARD / FICTIVE / SIMULATED), deal and maturity dates, volumes, and nominal values.
Users can filter e.g. by entity, year, deal type, swap status, or simulation scenario to isolate specific positions and analyze their impact on portfolio performance.
The View Simulated filter allows toggling between actual, fictive, and simulated deals.
Strategic Insight
The deal-level data links directly to higher-level dashboards (e.g., Coverage and Cost Comparison), providing traceability from overall cost outcomes down to individual transactions.
Overview
The left-hand tables present yearly EUA trading activity and costs for two entities Finland Factories Oy and Sweden Factories Oy. Each includes matured trades, average EUA prices, and remaining balance sheet positions, giving a detailed breakdown of how EUA exposure develops annually.
Cost by Year and Strategy
The chart on the right compares total annual costs under two distinct strategies:
Forward Strategy – locking EUA prices in advance through fixed trades.
Spot Strategy – purchasing allowances at market prices each year.
By visualizing both approaches, the dashboard highlights how timing and hedging choices affect total cost levels in a volatile market environment.
Savings Analysis
The lower summary quantifies yearly cost differences and displays the cumulative savings achieved through strategic EUA management. In this example, the applied strategy results in a total saving of € 12 million, demonstrating the tangible financial value of proactive planning.
This page brings together all the key group-level EUA data in a single, easy-to-understand overview. It shows the full picture of allocations, emissions, natural positions, trades, internal transfers, and balance-sheet effects.
Free allocations and emissions are displayed side by side for each country, giving a clear foundation for compliance planning.
Yearly position without trades highlights natural surpluses and deficits before any optimization.
Trades and internal transfers show how the group balances positions between factories.
Balance sheet surplus tracks leftover units and their valuation impact across years.
Everything here acts as the “ground truth” for the rest of the EUA reporting: a clean, consolidated view ensuring that all later calculations, cost comparisons, and strategy assessments are based on accurate, transparent, and easily traceable data.
